Calcium E and D3 by Melcoprol is a calcium, magnesium and vitamin D and E supplement based on dolomite. Vitamin D3 acts by increasing intestinal calcium absorption, thus increasing bone mineralization and also acts to a lesser extent on the kidney, decreasing urinary calcium excretion, so the main function of vitamin D3 is to regulate plasma calcium concentration. Calcium is preferentially absorbed in the duodenum and jejunum by an active process and is mostly excreted through feces and urine, only a minority is excreted through sweat and breast milk.
